Fashion in Studio 80

If you ever plan to go to Amsterdam please be sure to pay a visit to club ´studio 80´. This is a club located on Rembrandplein. I always go clubbing here with my friends whenever I am in Amsterdam. They play the best house music and a lot of attention is payed to art and fashion. The parties here are crazy and wild and the people are dressed like that in a fashionable way. Fashion and parties make a good combination. So I will report more often when I attended a party where I spotted a lot of fashionpeople! Some pictures that I took the last time I was there.

JUST DO IT!

My sister works at Nike in Amsterdam as a product developer for the training gear of national footballteams. She is going to show me around at the headoffice next month, and tell me how everything works at Nike. She is also going to explain me more about her function within the company. I am really looking forward to this. I will write a report about the experience and let you know how it was!

L´OFFICIEL

A French magazine that I discovered today. In order for a magazine to be good it has to have not too much advertisement and contain nice images and good and interesting topics. I can not read French but the images in this magazine are very good. And the clothing shown is completely my style. L´officiel is an edition from the French publisher Editions Jalou. This high fashion magazine is very succesfull in France and it is being published in 90 countries. The magazine brings Haute couture closer to the people. They report about the latest Haute couture, the latest shows in Paris and haute couture fashion shoots. But they also show Pret-a-pôrter. I am going to buy this magazine more often. I am very critical when it comes to magazines. When I was in Thailand I discovered a magazine where I fell in love with. A Japanes magazine called ´VIVI´ I have been looking for it everywhere since I got back. But they only sell this magazine in Asia. This magazine is ´new´ and different and a little bit crazy. The styling of the fotoshoots are very good and original and inspires to try different clothing and other combinations. Once again I can not read Japanese but the letters are funny and you have to read, starting from the end untill the beginning, from right to left. If anyone knows where I can get this magazine. Please contact me!

Vintage in Barcelona

I have to say that I get more and more tired of the multi-national fashion chains that take over the cities. Lately I feel the neccesity to take distance from these stores. I don´t feel like shopping anymore at stores such as H&M, Zara and Mango. I do like the apparal that they have in store. But I want to have something different, something more unique. I love little small boutiques that offer cute little dresses and colourfull accesoires. These stores are often more difficult to find as they are not situated in the center. But this is also what makes it more fun as you have to ´search´for them. And it makes you happy when you found them. But something what I absolutely love to do is go second-hand shopping. There is a small street in Barcelona called ´RIERA BAIXA ´ This street lies in the neighboorhood, and is filled with second-hand stores. Segunda mano, as the Spanish say. Here you can be creative and find garments that are different and unique and often has a story attached to it.

New talents

Two friends from Holland who are at the moment really making a name for themselves in the dutch model industry. Laura and Naan. They both have a unique appearance. Laura has just started and works for modelagency 'Ulla' models. Last week she walked the runway for dutch project runway winner Django at the Amsterdam Fashion week. Naan works for house of orange. And did assignments for Tommy Hilfiger, AND, Olily and Mexx. Please keep a close eye on these girls as we are going to here a lot more of them!
